Quest brief
Complete the military preparation on Volcano Island before the final Boss-type Bowhead encounter and keep its achievement trigger separate from the Scientist's bait chain.
Quest steps
- Speak to the Volcano military officer before starting the final encounter chain.
- Complete the active military objective and return to the same quest giver when its dialogue updates.
- Prepare a strong firearm and enough money for late-game supplies before committing to the whale sequence.
- Continue with the Scientist's Whale Bait route; the Deadliest Catch achievement check runs on the final Boss-type whale death.
What this quest does not do
The military quest and the Scientist's bait quest are separate NPC records in the game data. Finishing military dialogue does not replace the smaller-catch hand-ins needed to make Whale Bait.
